Kathleen Thomson, LPC, LCADC
Katie completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Caldwell University in 2011. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, she has practiced individual and group therapy in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community-based programs, mental health clinics, and outpatient substance abuse facilities throughout New Jersey.
Katie provides individual counseling for adults and teenagers (16 years and older) who are impacted by mental health and interpersonal issues. She works with individuals to address issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma. Katie utilizes various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing, based on the individual’s needs.
Katie works collaboratively with the client while offering a supportive and caring environment where the individual can learn the skills necessary to maintain long-term mental health and wellbeing.
